The doors of Autosport International 2016 have been opened, officially marking the start of the four-day homage to all things motorsport.

Visitors to Autosport International will be able to enjoy a host of different stands, attractions and performances over the coming days. Several big names from motorsport will be interviewed on the Autosport Stage, with Damon Hill OBE, Petter Solberg, Susie Wolff and Felipe Massa all set to appear over the four-day event.

Formula 1 fans are in for a particular treat, with Williams, one of the most successful and most-loved British teams of all time, playing a major role at this year’s show. The Williams Martini Racing motorhome will be erected next to the Autosport Stage, the first time it has ever been constructed outside of a racing circuit, while as many as eight famous F1 cars from the team’s history will be on display.

A Williams FW08C from the 1983 season will be just one of many cars that will be appearing in the Live Action Arena, with other highlights including the Jaguar C-X75. Two C-X75s, as featured in the latest James Bond film, SPECTRE from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, will be present, one on the Williams stand (the C-X75 was provided for SPECTRE by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations in collaboration with development partner Williams Advanced Engineering), the other in the Live Action Arena.

As well as watching the cars in action, visitors will also be able to sample the power for themselves, either from the passenger seat or from behind the wheel. Ginetta Cars is giving high-intensity Thrill Rides in a G40 in the Adrenaline Zone, while Teeside Karting is letting attendees get behind the wheel themselves.

Elsewhere, show goers will also be able to visit well over 500 stands, with everything including merchandise stalls, tyre manufacturers, racing teams and car manufacturers represented around the Birmingham NEC.

Those who fancy a career in the motorsport industry will be able to meet representatives and students from several top universities around the country. The likes of Birmingham City University, Cranfield University, Kingston University and the University of Wolverhampton will all be represented. Many of the universities will also be showcasing the cars they entered into the 2015 Formula Student competition.
