Motorsport-PR-News: Die Performance Auto Show<\/a> wird anl\u00e4sslich des 30-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4ums des kultigen Rennwagens eine ganz besondere Ausstellung von seltenen Sierra RS500 Cosworth f\u00fcr den Stra\u00dfen- und Renneinsatz zeigen.th<\/sup> Jahrestag.<\/p>\n

Petrolheads, die an der Performance Auto Show<\/a> haben die einmalige Gelegenheit, bis zu 14 dieser Fahrzeuge gemeinsam auf einem Stand in Halle 19 auf der NEC<\/a> in Birmingham - alles mit freundlicher Genehmigung von Paul Linfoot und dem RS500 Owners Forum and Community (www.rs500owners.com).<\/p>\n

Das erste best\u00e4tigte Fahrzeug ist Chassis DJR1, ein RS500 im Besitz von Andy Lloyd, der in den Jahren 1987 und 1988 mit Dick Johnson am Steuer an der Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) und den Bathurst 1000 Enduros teilnahm. Die Besucher der Ausstellung werden ihn nicht \u00fcbersehen, denn er ist in der leuchtend roten Shell Ultra Hi-Lackierung lackiert.<\/p>\n

Ebenfalls best\u00e4tigt ist der atemberaubende RS500 im Mobil-Look (Chassis AREKAL 0288), der in der Saison 1988 in der British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) antrat. Mit dem Fahrer Andy Rouse am Steuer dominierte der Wagen die Serie in jenem Jahr, gewann neun von 12 Rennen und sicherte sich dabei 10 Pole-Positions.<\/p>\n

In der Saison 1989 ging der Wagen, der Rupert Kent geh\u00f6rt, bei den ATCC, Sandown 500 und Bathurst 1000 Enduro-Rennen in Australien an den Start... und erhielt zu Beginn der Saison dank des Titelsponsors Mobil einen neuen Anstrich.<\/p>\n

Die 30th<\/sup> Die Jubil\u00e4umsfeierlichkeiten gehen weiter, denn die Fans haben die M\u00f6glichkeit, den ersten RS500 zu sehen, der jemals in der DTM gefahren ist. Dieser spezielle RS500 ist im Besitz von Paul Linfoot und belegte in der Saison 1987 mit Manuel Reuter am Steuer den zweiten Platz in der DTM-Meisterschaft. Danach fuhr er noch zwei weitere Saisons, wobei Volker Weidler und Pierre Dieudonn\u00e9 das Steuer \u00fcbernahmen und das Auto in seiner letzten Saison in der DTM 1989 mit der kultigen schwarz-roten Texaco-Lackierung antraten.<\/p>\n

Neben diesem Auto gibt es noch eine weitere Rennikone: den BTCC RS500 von 1988, der von Laurence Bristow gefahren wurde und in der Lackierung von Rouse CAM Shipping ausgef\u00fchrt ist. Andy Rouse Engineering baute diese atemberaubende Maschine f\u00fcr die Saison '88 und sie bestritt auch alle Runden der japanischen Tourenwagenmeisterschaft im Jahr 1990.<\/p>\n

Der Sierra RS500 Cosworth wurde erstmals im Juli 1987 angek\u00fcndigt und im August desselben Jahres homologiert. Um die Homologationsanforderungen f\u00fcr Tourenwagenrennen der Gruppe A zu erf\u00fcllen, wurden 500 stra\u00dfentaugliche RS500 produziert - alle mit Rechtslenkung ausschlie\u00dflich f\u00fcr den britischen Markt.<\/p>\n

Die evolution\u00e4ren \u00c4nderungen beschr\u00e4nkten sich nicht auf den Motor. Ein neues Aero-Paket f\u00fchrte einen neuen vorderen Sto\u00dff\u00e4nger und Splitter ein, um sowohl den Abtrieb als auch die K\u00fchlung zu verbessern, und die Heckklappe erhielt einen zus\u00e4tzlichen unteren Spoiler sowie einen Gurney-Streifen, der das allgegenw\u00e4rtige \"Walfischheck\" erg\u00e4nzte. Die Aufh\u00e4ngungspunkte wurden ebenfalls ge\u00e4ndert, neben einer Vielzahl anderer \u00c4nderungen, um die Leistung auf der Strecke zu verbessern.<\/p>\n

Der RS500 entwickelte sich zu einem der erfolgreichsten Gruppe-A-Tourenwagen aller Zeiten und dominierte die Rennen, wo immer sie stattfanden. 2017 j\u00e4hrt sich das Renndeb\u00fct des RS500 zum 30. Mal, und nach all den Jahren erinnern sich Fahrer und Zuschauer immer noch gerne an ihn als einen der unterhaltsamsten und kultigsten Tourenwagen, der jemals auf den Rennstrecken der Welt unterwegs war.<\/p>\n
