Los visitantes de la exposici\u00f3n no se lo perder\u00e1n, ya que est\u00e1 acabado con los colores rojos brillantes de Shell Ultra Hi.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n se ha confirmado el impresionante RS500 vestido de Mobil (chasis AREKAL 0288), que compiti\u00f3 en la temporada 1988 del Campeonato Brit\u00e1nico de Turismos (BTCC). Con el piloto Andy Rouse al volante, el coche domin\u00f3 la serie ese a\u00f1o, ganando nueve de las 12 carreras y consiguiendo 10 pole positions en el proceso.<\/p>\n<p>Para la temporada de 1989, el coche propiedad de Rupert Kent compiti\u00f3 en los enduros ATCC, Sandown 500 y Bathurst 1000... junto con un cambio de decoraci\u00f3n gracias al patrocinador Mobil al comienzo de esa temporada.<\/p>\n<p>Los 30<sup>th<\/sup> Las celebraciones del aniversario contin\u00faan, ya que los aficionados tendr\u00e1n la oportunidad de ver el primer RS500 de la historia que compiti\u00f3 en el DTM. Este RS500 especial es propiedad de Paul Linfoot y termin\u00f3 segundo en el Campeonato DTM durante la temporada 1987 con Manuel Reuter al volante. Volker Weidler y Pierre Dieudonn\u00e9 se pusieron al volante en la \u00faltima temporada de este coche en el DTM, en 1989, con los ic\u00f3nicos colores negro y rojo de Texaco.<\/p>\n<p>Junto a este coche se encuentra otro icono de las carreras, el RS500 del BTCC de 1988 pilotado por Laurence Bristow y acabado con los colores distintivos de Rouse CAM Shipping. Andy Rouse Engineering construy\u00f3 esta impresionante m\u00e1quina para la temporada '88 y tambi\u00e9n disput\u00f3 todas las rondas del Campeonato Japon\u00e9s de Turismos en 1990.<\/p>\n<p>El Sierra RS500 Cosworth se anunci\u00f3 por primera vez en julio de 1987 y se homolog\u00f3 en agosto del mismo a\u00f1o. Para satisfacer los requisitos de homologaci\u00f3n para las carreras de turismos del Grupo A, se fabricaron 500 RS500 de carretera, todos ellos con tracci\u00f3n trasera, exclusivamente para el mercado brit\u00e1nico.<\/p>\n<p>Las modificaciones Evolution no se limitaron al motor. Un nuevo paquete aerodin\u00e1mico introdujo un nuevo parachoques delantero y un splitter para aumentar tanto la carga aerodin\u00e1mica como la refrigeraci\u00f3n, y el port\u00f3n trasero ten\u00eda un aler\u00f3n inferior adicional y una tira Gurney a\u00f1adida a la omnipresente \"cola de ballena\". Tambi\u00e9n se modificaron los puntos de anclaje de la suspensi\u00f3n, entre otros muchos cambios para mejorar el rendimiento en pista.<\/p>\n<p>El RS500 se convirti\u00f3 en uno de los turismos del Grupo A m\u00e1s exitosos de todos los tiempos, dominando los eventos all\u00ed donde se corr\u00eda. En 2017 se cumple el 30 aniversario del debut en competici\u00f3n del RS500 y, todos estos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, sigue siendo recordado con mucho cari\u00f1o tanto por los pilotos como por los espectadores como uno de los turismos m\u00e1s divertidos e ic\u00f3nicos que han pasado por los circuitos de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>A d\u00eda de hoy, el RS500 ostenta el r\u00e9cord de victorias consecutivas en el BTCC: 40 seguidas.
