Automotive PR – In Automotive PR news, H.R. Owen has welcomed Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) and its founding brothers to London for the first time in a one-off press event.
Members of the media were invited to H.R. Owen HQ in South Kensington to meet Neill and Ian Briggs and spend some time with the one-of-a-kind Mono – the world’s only single-seater, road-legal supercar.
After being introduced by Stephan Plant, General Manager of H.R. Owen Ecurie – where the Mono is exclusively sold by H.R. Owen – Neill and Ian discussed how they came to devise one of the most celebrated high performance cars of the generation.
A dream born out of a desire to give the world the ultimate driver’s car for both the road and track, the Mono wowed journalists on the day, with some lucky enough to take a seat in the bespoke cockpit.
Neill and Ian demonstrated every aspect of personalisation that makes each and every Mono completely unique, including the made-to-measure seat and steering wheel.
Plus, they talked through some of the Mono’s finest achievements on the track and world-firsts, including carbon hybrid wheels and the development of innovative lightweight material graphene.
The Mono is the very embodiment of BAC’s unique approach: purity of design, innovative engineering and ultra-high performance. With a staggering power-to-weight ratio of 525bhp per tonne, the supercar doesn’t compromise on the track and is able to sprint from 0-60mph in just 2.7 seconds.
H.R. Owen and BAC joined forces in 2016 in a union that saw two automotive heavyweights come together – both brands are the very best in the world at what they do, and the success they’ve enjoyed since joining forces has only cemented their position at the top of their respective trees.
Stephan Plant said: “The press event in London was an overwhelming success and local journalists absolutely loved meeting Liverpool’s finest export in the capital. The Mono is a true feat of engineering and something that H.R. Owen could not turn down being a part of when the opportunity arose. It’s always lovely to see Neill and Ian, and the way they talk so passionately about the Mono truly captivated the attending journalists.”
Neill Briggs, Co-Founder and Director of Product Development at BAC, added: “Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Bentley at H.R. Owen is a real honour for us and we’re absolutely delighted to be part of such a prestigious brand. Meeting members of the London media was a fantastic experience for us; we’re very thankful that so many braved the cold weather to come and have a chat with us. Our partnership with H.R. Owen has been a great success so far and we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.”
