Motorsport legend John Surtees CBE and Jaguar’s veteran test driver Norman Dewis will star on the Live Interview Stage at the Classic & Sports Car Show at the end of this month.

The pair head a growing list of big names who will make guest appearances on the stage, which will this year be run in partnership with Goodwood. The force behind the Sussex venue’s fabulous Members’ Meeting, Festival of Speed and Revival promises to draw more personalities to the show, which will be held at Alexandra Palace in north London on 28th-30th October.

Surtees is unique in motorsport history for winning seven world titles on motorcycles, then switching to cars and claiming the 1964 Formula 1 World Championship for Ferrari. He is scheduled to appear on the Live Interview Stage presented by Goodwood Road and Racing on Friday 28th, as is Dewis. The 96-year-old test driver remains an engaging raconteur with tales from his career developing Jaguars for both the race track and road over the course of four decades.

Others confirmed include sports car racing hero John Fitzpatrick, whose autobiography ‘Fitz’ has just hit bookshelves and sports and touring car driver Steve Soper and racing driver Nick Padmore. Renowned journalist and commentator Simon Taylor, who is a regular Classic & Sports Car columnist, will also be interviewed by host Henry Hope-Frost, Goodwood’s regular commentator and presenter.

James Elliott, group editor, Classic & Sports Car magazine, said: “We are delighted that great figures from the motoring world such as John Surtees CBE and Norman Dewis will join us at Alexandra Palace this year. The insight these men can give into motoring and racing as it used to be will be unmissable and their appearances on the Live Interview Stage presented by Goodwood Road and Racing are sure to be among the show highlights.”

Will Kinsman, Head of Motorsport Content at Goodwood, said: “We are so pleased to be working with our friends at Classic & Sports Car to present the Live Interview Stage, and with guests of this calibre, in only the show’s second year, it is already established as a must-attend event for anyone who loves classic cars.”

The Classic & Sports Car show will feature more than 300 of the world’s most prestigious and well-loved classic cars with displays from some of the best dealers in the business including DD Classics, Desmond J Smail, Classic Chrome, Stanley Mann and many more.
