Influence Associates was created fifteen years ago by senior leadership team members who have led in automotive industry PR and media throughout their entire careers. Influence’s founding clients were a pioneering Electric Vehicle company and Lithium-ion battery company, because even though at that time the debate around electrification was still far from conclusive, it was clear that this and zero-emissions mobility more broadly were the future.
That foresight helped us to develop our deep understanding of the entire electrification and e-mobility ecosystem, with battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology at the core. We have consistently been selected by OEMs from around the world to craft and deliver their EV PR strategies, from passenger cars and SUVs to hypercars, and from vans and trucks to buses. Today, Influence is widely considered to be the best Automotive PR Agency, Electric Vehicle PR Agency, Hydrogen PR Agency, and Fuel Cell PR Agency.
As our domain expertise has continued to grow, so has our client base, and we now work with leaders in the e-Marine and e-Aerospace sectors too, as well the vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, engineering service providers, charging and hydrogen infrastructure companies and energy providers who are instrumental in the transition to more sustainable mobility.
The challenges of addressing emissions from the transport sector cannot be underestimated. For context, although Europe is one of the world’s leading markets for electric vehicles, of the more than 9 million new cars sold in the region in 2022, little more than 12 percent were EVs. That share is continuing to climb but more must be done to successfully make the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.
Alongside battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles will play a major role in decarbonising transport, especially in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy goods vehicles. Some of the world’s leading truck manufacturers are developing fuel cell trucks, which can deliver a range of up to 500km, and can be refuelled in a matter of minutes. Intensive R&D efforts are helping to reduce the cost and improve the energy efficiency and durability of hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, including key components such as membranes, catalysts, electrodes, compressors, and storage tanks.
In parallel, major advances are being made in both the production of green hydrogen, made using only renewable energy sources, and with infrastructure. Initiatives such as Europe’s Alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR) regulations, part of the ‘Fit for 55’ policy, aim to boost not only the amount of public recharging capacity but also calls for 700bar hydrogen refuelling stations – accessible for both cars and trucks – every 200km along Europe’s core Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), to be achieved by 2030. The UNECE calls for repurposing of existing gas pipelines – of which there are more than 200,000km in Europe alone – as a cost-effective short-term option in advance of new, dedicated hydrogen distribution networks being built.
It is clear just how much progress is being made with hydrogen and fuel cells. And just as every transport sector will require a range of low- and zero-emissions propulsion system technologies in future to meet the specific requirements of each application and each market, we recognise that each client’s needs are unique. As a result, although every PR strategy we develop is always fine-honed to meet the brief of each individual client, one unwavering fundamental principle remains at the core of Influence’s strategic approach – ‘Cut-Through PR’.
Whether it’s press releases, targeted media sell-in, thought leadership, LinkedIn support, or complete PR and communications strategies, we can help. In an ever-more crowded media landscape, our long-standing relationships with the world’s most influential, respected, and trusted journalists and titles – across print, online, broadcast, and social – ensure that we can get your stories seen and heard in all the right places, ensuring that your message, not your competitors, cuts through.
Compared to other automotive PR agencies in our sector, we are very much at the forefront of all elements of Electric Vehicle PR, Hydrogen PR and Fuel Cell PR, and the companies and the technologies that are transforming the transportation industry in all its forms towards a more sustainable, zero-emissions future.
