With a wide selection of rare and prestigious cars, the stands of some of the world’s finest dealers and auction houses will be a real highlight at Classic & Sports Car – The London Show at Alexandra Palace this weekend.
JD Classics will be displaying the first Aston Martin DB4 Series 3 produced in 1961, which was also the factory’s original demonstrator, along with a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV, one of only 20 right hand drive cars built and believed to be the only example with full factory options. In addition, the dealer will be bringing a range of classics including a Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, Lamborghini 400GT, an Aston Martin DB6 Volante, a Series 1 Jaguar E-type, a Porsche 356 Speedster and even a period Fiat transporter used in the film Le Mans.
Hexagon Classics will be showing off some of the finest air-cooled Porsches, with a stand that features a 20,400-mile 993 3.8 RS Clubsport and an incredible 8,100-mile 911 SC Sport Targa. The stand will also feature a 1979 Ferrari 512 BB and, as London’s only Lotus dealer, Hexagon Classics will also have an Evora 400.
Featuring on the Silverstone Auctions stand will be a 1985 911 Turbo SE Flatnose, which was used as the factory press car and famously wore the iconic ‘911 HUL’ number plate as well as appearing in various magazines of the period. Finished in its original colour of Silver Metallic, the car also has a number of unusual factory options, including rare Recaro Ideal ‘C’ seats in special order Can-Can Red. It will star alongside an ex-Eric Morecambe 1977 Jensen Interceptor Series IV convertible.
World-renowned Rolls Royce and Bentley dealer Frank Dale and Stepsons will be showcasing two beautiful models on its stand: a 1955 Bentley R Type Continental, the fastest production four seater car in the world at the time, and a recently restored 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II.
DD Classics will have a rare, right-hand-drive 1974 Citroen DS23 Pallas, alongside an extremely rare and exceptionally original 1968 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE convertible. Also on display will be an LHD Rolls-Royce Cloud II Convertible, a 1935 Rover Fourteen Tourer, a 1972 Ferrari 246 Dino and a Ferrari 599 GTO.
Over on the Graypaul Classic Cars stand a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT will be a key focus. With 612bhp, this stunning silver sports car has done just 7,210 miles. It will be joined by a 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint. Maranello Classic Parts will be showcasing a beautiful 1996 Ferrari F50, one of just 349 built to celebrate the marque’s 50th anniversary, in addition to a 1972 Ferrari Daytona. The company will also have a selection of spare parts, including some which have been remanufactured to original specification, and behind the scenes film footage of the business.
Reinforcing the British theme of the event, Vintage & Prestige Automobiles will have a matching numbers Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster alongside a beautiful 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud MKIII convertible. The dealer’s display will also include an additional 10 stunning classics from the UK and beyond.
New Forest Classics will be displaying two exceptional Jaguar E-types; a 1961 Series 1 3.8 FHC LHD and a 1964 Series 1 3.8 DHC LHD, both of which have been imported from the US, have undergone full restorations and carry Jaguar Heritage Certificates.
HR Owen will be launching into the classic car market with HR Owen Classic Cars and its stand will feature an incredible selection of Ferraris including a 288 GTO, a 328 GTS with just 2,156 miles on the clock, an immaculate 355 Spider and an F40.
The Historics at Brooklands stand will feature an eye-catching 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, a 1963 Series 1 Jaguar E-type, a 1973 Ford Escort RS2000 Mk1 and a 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole.
Dutch classic car dealer The Gallery Brummen will have an amazing collection of 12 models, ranging from an Aston Martin 15/98 and DB2 Convertible to five Ferraris, including two Dinos, a 365 GTB/4 Daytona and 250 GTE, to a Lamborghini Jarama and a Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9.
World-renowned Aston Martin experts Desmond J Smail will feature a 1961 DB4 GT in final restoration, showcasing the firm’s exceptional restorative skills, a 1986 V8 Volante EFi Auto and a 1995 Vantage V550. The company is also providing a DB MkIII, DB5 and Vanquish for the show’s Aston Martin celebration display, sponsored by EFG International. Auctioneer Coys will be showing off an incredible 1967 AC 289 Cobra Mk III, which has led an interesting life in the UK, South Africa and Japan, and another internationally-travelled classic, an immaculate 1925 Bentley 3 litre Speed Model Vanden Plas 4-seater Sports which has spent time in the USA as the UK. The stand will also feature a 1925 Bugatti Type 30, one of only 50 surviving models.
Six dealers will be representing Morgan Motor Company on one stand, which will feature a Morgan ‘Half Car’, Morgan Aero 8, new specification Ivory Plus 4 Morgan and a Brands Hatch branded Morgan 3 wheeler. Balvenie whisky tastings are also being held on the stand on Friday.
Mercedes experts HK Engineering will be showing the best of the best when it comes to the 300SL ‘Gullwing’, Samuel Laurence will be displaying some of its exceptional modern classics and historic models while Classic Motor Cars will be very proudly displaying the first production right-hand-drive 1967 Triumph TR5 Roadster.
London-based dealer, Classic Chrome, will have a matching numbers 1958 Jaguar XK150 SE Drophead Coupe alongside a 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII Phase 2 in fantastic condition and a 1975 Fiat 500 Abarth 595 Replica.
Lister will be displaying one of its ‘Knobbly’ models. The limited run of ten continuation cars, which are now sold out, were built to original 1958 specifications using the late Brian Lister’s original drawings and manufacturing jigs.
