Automotive PR – In automotive PR news, an all-new feature dedicated to the very best of British automotive manufacturing will take pride of place at The London Motor Show 2018.

The ‘Built in Britain’ feature is set to celebrate a host of the UK’s 15 mainstream car and commercial vehicle manufacturers with a display of vehicles, commemorating the nation where vehicle design and production all take place – right here in Britain, with London right at the epicentre!

Alec Mumford, Chairman of The London Motor Show, added: “During the build-up to Brexit, we feel it’s important to show to the world what we do best here in the UK – design and build cars! By creating a showcase arena called ‘Built in Britain’ at the London Motor Show, all type of vehicles that have been designed, built or assembled in the UK will be on display for all our international visitors/customers to see at first hand. It’s also a great opportunity for domestic customers attending the show to feel proud of the heritage of the automotive industry on these shores.”

Vauxhall is the first car manufacturer confirmed to take pride of place on the new feature at the show this May. The British car company will display its Vivaro and award-winning Astra models from its extensive range at ExCeL London. The dedicated team from Vauxhall will be on hand to talk to visitors about an exclusive opportunity to upgrade to an automatic transmission model for free in addition to getting five years of 0% finance.

A British institution, Vauxhall bases itself at two major plants in England. Production of the Vivaro began in Luton in 2001 with over one million built to date. Luton builds all low roof versions of the Vivaro panel van for the Opel and Vauxhall brands. It is also the only volume light commercial vehicle manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom, whilst its Ellesmere Port facility exports Astra models to all European markets and is the sole manufacturer of the Sports Tourer (estate) derivative. The facility is a significant contributor to the local and national economies, building over five million vehicles since 1964.
