Sports Car PR

In sports car PR news, the Morgan Motor Company is excitedly pairing with a fellow British firm, Pashley Cycles, on two concept bicycles. Founded in 1926, Pashley Cycles are the longest established British cycle manufacturer. Famed the world over for their range of traditionally built and impeccably styled cycles.

With centuries of heritage, craftsmanship and passion for their product, Pashley and Morgan are two “like minded” brands. Furthermore, the opportunity to collaborate has been just waiting to happen. Launching this weekend at Morgan’s much anticipated Thrill on the Hill, the Pashley-Morgan range will include two new bikes.

Production of each bike will take place at Pashley’s Stratford-upon-Avon factory. The bicycles have a stylish hand-crafted frame which features a new curved top tube design. It is also fillet-brazed using Reynolds 631 tubing. Moreover, it embodies a custom formed top tube and frame mounted race plate, distinctive S-bend seat stays and unique track ends with etched stainless faces.

Adrian Williams, Managing Director, Pashley Cycles

“People often refer to Pashley as “the Morgan of the bicycle world.” So It delights me that there is now a close joint venture between our two companies, manifested in the new Pashley-Morgan range of bicycles.

Pashley and Morgan share many similarities. Most notably, our unrivalled heritage, design innovation and British craftsmanship. Evidence of these qualities are in our beautiful bicycles. Also, these bicycles will appeal to Morgan car owners and discerning cyclists alike.”

Jonathan Wells, Head of Design, Morgan Motor Company:

“The craftsmen and women at Morgan work passionately to duly reflect the brand qualities within every product we release. When exploring new product avenues and markets, the greatest way to accomplish this, with brand integrity maintained, is to work with likeminded craftspeople across industries. It made absolute sense to embark on a collaborative project with Pashley.

Our approach to developing any new product starts with a blank sheet of paper. It is a fascinating process working with Pashley’s team, as well as their designers and craftsmen; at the same time evolving the designs.

This unified approach, I believe, is apparent in the final offerings. As well as that, I am particularly fond of the swept top tube. This feature is not only a first for Pashley, its intention is to mirror the gentle sloping shoulder line of current and future Morgan cars.”
